Lon began his career in restaurants in 1981, starting with Chili’s and working his way up through the operations ranks to Regional Vice President, leading expansion and growth in the western United States. Joining BJ’s Restaurants in 2004 as Vice President of Operations, he moved to Huntington Beach from his native home of San Jose and has led Operations and Talent Development as the company grew  from 30 to 214restaurants across the US.  As Executive Vice President of Operations, Lon was responsible for all areas of operations, recruiting, and talent development, Lon is passionate about building a culture of hospitality, trust, and achievement. 

When he is not in a restaurant, you can find him in an airplane following his joy of flying as a commercial, instrument-rated pilot. An avid DIYer, he is always building something and biking or paddling around Southern California. Lon resides in Huntington Beach with his wife of 46 years, Jody and has two children, a wonderful daughter-in-law and two rambunctious grandchildren
