Psychology majors have the opportunity to engage in research projects with faculty mentors. Faculty research interests cover many of the major areas of Psychology including: Clinical, Social, Developmental, Industrial/Organizational, Cognition, and Cognitive Neuroscience. Faculty interests are listed below. Current and ongoing research projects are listed below by the areas/emphasis offered in the department. Students interested in getting involved in Faculty-Student research/projects are encouraged to directly contact potential mentors. Most faculty ask interested students to commit at least one full semester to their lab. Engaging in research with a mentor is particularly valuable for students who wish to go to graduate school or students who wish to improve their research skills. Students that are actively engaging in research with a faculty mentor, may have the opportunity to engage in a Senior Project course. This is a year-long capstone series of courses, which has students conducting an independent research project.
