Professor Michael Assumma is an Alumni who earned a bachelor of science degree with an emphasis in marketing from Æðµã´«Ã½ in 1985. He went on to earn an M.B.A. with an emphasis in marketing from Cal State San Bernardino in 1991.  He has been a lecturer at Æðµã´«Ã½ for over 20 years, where he teaches BUS 2500 (Applied Business Communications), IBM 3012 (Principles of Marketing Management), IBM 3062 (Professional Selling), IBM 3102 (Marketing Management Career Success), IBM 4102 (Marketing for Small Organizations), IBM 4212 (Marketing Problems) classes, among others.

Prior to joining academia, he has over 40+ years of “real-world” work experience. He has held the following key positions for corporations ranging from small start-up’s to large conglomerates: Small Business Owner, Marketing Consultant/Coach, Marketing Manager, Sales & Marketing Manager, General Manager, Director of Marketing, Product Manager, and Business Development Manager. Professor Assumma has pragmatic experience in Product Management, Small Business Management, Marketing Management, Entrepreneurialism, Corporate Training, Sales Management, MARCOM (Marketing Communication)/IMC, New Product Development & Launch, P&L Analysis, Market/Industry Analysis, Competitive Analysis, and Organizational Structure & Design. As a result of the many years of experience, he has been able to approach each subject with a great deal of confidence, and it has given him the ability to share personal experiences in a very pragmatic and/or real-life manner – a manner that to date has brought a positive element to each student’s educational experience. Professor Assumma began his academic career at San Bernardino Valley College 25 years ago – where he is currently the Department Chair for Accounting, Business & Real Estate. After 20+ successful years in the business world, he decided to step away from the boardroom and focus more on his passion in the classroom – giving back - which he has done for over 25 years now. He currently resides on the Economic & Workforce Development – Small Business Programs (California Community Colleges) Committee and WAFC (Western Association of Food Chains) – So. California Advisory Committee for over 19 years.
